, The SLO Food Bank received more than 80 market animals through livestock donations and dedicated funding following the 2026 California Mid-State Fair Junior Livestock Auction, according to a recent press release. Food bank also received more than $112,000 in contributions to support livestock purchases at the California Mid-State Fair Junior Livestock Auction. More than 60 animals came from 20 community supporters who donated their auction purchases to the SLO Food Bank. The donations included goats, hogs, and lambs raised by local 4-H and FFA youth exhibitors.

Livestock donors included T&D Quarter Horses, Flying M Ranch, Delta Liquid Energy, Phillips Rafter A Ranch, Sinton Helicopters, JR Barto Ranch Co., Kimberly Babcock, Kasarjian & Company, Shining Cross Farms, Abi Engineering, Daou Vineyards, and others.

The SLO Food Bank also received more than $112,000 in contributions to support livestock purchases at the California Mid-State Fair Junior Livestock Auction. The funding allowed the organization to purchase 20 additional animals, including 15 steers and five hogs. Sinton & Sons and Central Valley Meats donated processing services for the livestock. The processing donations allow more resources from the donated animals to support food distribution to local residents experiencing hunger. The SLO Food Bank works with a network of community partners to alleviate hunger in San Luis Obispo County and build a healthier community.

The organization serves 50,000 neighbors each month through Neighborhood Food Distributions, a network of more than 70 nonprofit Agency Partners, its Senior Home Delivery Program, and Children’s and Seniors’ Farmers Markets. Volunteers and donors support the programs. Estimates indicated that more information about resources offered by the SLO Food Bank and ways to get involved is available at slofoodbank.org.
