, The City of Paso Robles will conduct road and infrastructure work at multiple locations in September, with construction affecting Creston Road, South Vine Street, and streets in the Sierra Bonita neighborhood. The Creston Road Phase 2 project will continue Sept. 10 with trench excavation just east of Orchard Drive to Laura Way for installation of new water lines. The work is expected to continue through Sept. 18. Bike lanes and street parking will close to accommodate the work while crews maintain two-way traffic. The traffic signal at Creston Road and Golden Hill Road will remain in flashing red operation through Sept. 11 while crews reconstruct the left-turn pocket from Creston Road onto Golden Hill Road.

The work is part of the $17.8 million Creston Road Phase 2 project, which began July 13. The project includes roadway rehabilitation and paving, underground utility improvements, sidewalks and Americans with Disabilities Act upgrades, bicycle facilities, and construction of a new roundabout…. Developer-funded improvements at Creston Road and Niblick Road will begin Sept. 14. On Sept. 23, Pacific Gas and Electric Co. will begin work to energize a newly installed yellow flashing arrow signal at Creston Road and Scott Street. The signal is anticipated to become fully operational by early October.

The yellow flashing arrow signal will be the first of its type in the city. The release states that this type of signal has been shown to reduce accidents compared with traditional permitted left-turn signal configurations.

South Vine Street sewer work.

Sewer construction will begin Sept. 14 on South Vine Street between Cuerno Largo and Wilmar Place. The work is part of off-site improvements associated with nearby private development.

Sierra Bonita project enters final phase. The Sierra Bonita Neighborhood Road Repair project is entering its final phase after crews completed pavement repair and paving in April.
