Bradley Union School District students donated $1,100 in winter sports admission proceeds to SabesWings, a local nonprofit organization that helps cover medical expenses for people undergoing cancer treatment, according to a release sent by the school district this week. Members of the district’s Associated Student Body chose to donate all admission proceeds from the 2025-26 winter sports season to the organization. The students announced the donation during a schoolwide morning meeting April 15.

SabesWings founders Bret Saberhagen, a former Major League Baseball player, and Kandace Saberhagen attended the meeting to accept the donation. Students presented them with Bradley Bulldog baseball hats.

The Saberhagens presented the school district with an autographed jersey highlighting Bret Saberhagen’s Major League Baseball accomplishments.
