PISMO BEACH, Calif. (KEYT), A 30-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for felony arson after starting a fire off Costa Brava Sunday afternoon. On Aug. 30, around 1:24 p. m., officers received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire in the 2000 block of Costa Brava stated a press release Monday from the Pismo Beach Police Department.

According to Pismo Beach Police, witnesses shared that they saw a man, later identified as a 30-year-old Los Angeles man, set a tent on fire and then walk away from the area. The flames spread quickly up the hill north of the ignition site and were extinguished after a multi-hour response by the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department shared the local law enforcement agency. The 30-year-old was then booked on a charge of felony arson and he remains in custody with bail set at $100,000 stated the Pismo Beach Police Department.
