By KAREN VELIE. A natural gas leak in San Luis Obispo led to an evacuation order on Tuesday morning. This is the third natural gas leak in SLO in less than a month. SoCalGas staffers detected the gas leak while conducting routine survey work in downtown San Luis Obispo.

The evacuation was ordered for Court Street, from Monterey to Higuera streets. The Anderson Hotel is sheltering in place and currently under an evacuation warning. The city is working on temporarily evacuating Anderson Hotel residents to the Ludwick Community Center. Reports differed on the location.

SoCalGas workers are on scene working to isolate and repair the leak. The cause of the leak is not public at this time.
